The mid-term elections are only 5 days away. These mid-terms are extremely important for various issues and races, though none may be more important than the battle for control of the Senate. There are 36 Senate races on the ballot this November 4th. 33 senators are up for election this year and 3 are up for special elections. Is your state voting on a senator? Alabama: Republican senator Jeff Sessions is running unopposed .
Alaska: Incumbent Democrat Mark Begich is being challenged by the state’s former attorney general Republican Dan Sullivan.
Arkansas: Incumbent Democrat Mark Pryor is being challenged by Republican Rep. Tom Cotton.
Colorado: Incumbent Democrat Mark Udall is being challenged by Republican Rep. Cory Gardner.
Delaware: Incumbent Democrat Chris Coons is being challenged by Republican businessman Kevin Wade.
Georgia: Republican Saxby Chambliss is retiring. Either Democratic non-profit CEO Michelle Nunn and Republican businessman David Perdue will replace him.
Hawaii (Special Election): Incumbent Democrat Brian Schatz was appointed in and is being challenged by Republican politician Campbel Cavasso to finish out the term that will end January 3rd.
Idaho: Incumbent Republican Jim Risch is being challenged by Democratic attorney Nels Mitchell.
Illinois: Incumbent Democrat Dick Durbin is being challenged by Republican politician Jim Oberweis.
Iowa: Democrat Tom Harkin is retiring. Either Republican politician Joni Ernst or Democratic politician Bruce Braley will replace him.
Kansas: Incumbent Republican Pat Roberts is being challenged by Independent entrepreneur Greg Orman.
Kentucky: Incumbent Republican Mitch McConnell is being challenged by Democratic Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes.
Louisiana: Incumbent Democrat Mary Landrieu is being challenged by Republican politician Bill Cassidy.
Maine: Incumbent Republican Susan Collins is being challenged by Democratic former non-profit executive director Shenna Bellows.
Massachusetts: Incumbent Democrat Ed Markey is being challenged by Republican businessman Brian Herr.
Michigan: Democrat Carl Levin is retiring. Either Republican politician Terri Lynn Land or Democratic politician Gary Peters will replace him.
Minnesota: Incumbent Democrat Al Franken is being challenged by Republican businessman Mike McFadden.
Mississippi: Incumbent Republican Thad Cochran is being challenged by Democratic politician Travis Childers.
Montana: Appointed Democrat John Walsh withdrew from the nomination. Either Republican politician Steve Daines or Democratic politician/teacher Amanda Curtis.
Nebraska: Republican Mike Johanns is retiring. Either Democratic lawyer David Domina or Republican Midland University President Ben Sasse will replace him.
New Hampshire: Incumbent Democrat Jeanne Shaheen is being challenged by former Massachusetts senator Scott Brown.
New Jersey: Incumbent Democrat Cory Booker is being challenged by Republican political consultant/speechwriter Jeff Bell.
New Mexico: Incumbent Democrat Tom Udall is being challenged by Republican businessman Allen Weh.
North Carolina: Incumbent Democrat Kay Hagan is being challenged by Republican Rep. Thom Tillis.
Oklahoma: Incumbent Republican Jim Inhofe is being challenged by Democratic investment planner Matt Silverstein.
Oklahoma (Special Election): Republican Tom Coburn is retiring. Either Democratic politician Constance Johnson or Republican Rep. James Lankford will replace him.
Oregon: Incumbent Democrat Jeff Merkley is being challenged by Republican physician Monica Wehby.
Rhode Island: Incumbent Democrat Jack Reed is being challenged by Republican former corporate chairman Mark Zaccaria.
South Carolina: Incumbent Republican Lindsey Graham is being challenged by Democratic politician Brad Hutto.
South Carolina (Special Election): Republican Tim Scott, who was appointed in is running against Democratic politician Joyce Dickerson to finish the term ending January 3rd.
South Dakota: Democrat Tim Johnson is retiring. Either Republican politician Mike Rounds or Democratic politician Rick Weiland will replace him.
Tennessee: Incumbent Republican Lamar Alexander is being challenged by Democratic attorney Gordon Ball.
Texas: Incumbent Republican John Cornyn is being challenged by Democratic Dentist David Alameel.
Virginia: Incumbent Democrat Mark Warner is being challenged by Republican political strategist Ed Gillespie.
West Virginia: Democrat Jay Rockefeller is retiring. Either Republican Rep. Shelly Moore Capito or Democratic West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant will replace him.
Wyoming: Incumbent Republican Mike Enzi is being challenged by Democratic former catholic priest Charlie Hardy.
