Civic Engagement Volunteer Training and Neighborhood Canvass, Saturday, September 11th

In honor of “National Day of Service“, the Texas League of Young Voters Education Fund is hosting a “Civic Engagement Volunteer Training and Neighborhood Canvass” for young leaders who want to become volunteers and assist the Texas League with voter registration and get-out-the-vote activities between now and Election Day.

At the training, volunteers will get deputized and learn the ins-and-outs of voter registration, including participating in a neighborhood canvass, whereby participants will go out into the community and register eligible voters.

If you would like to get deputized (you must be deputized before you can register voters), you must come early to the training between 9:15am-9:45am. The training will start at 10:00am.

Training is FREE! Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. However, you must REGISTER.

Texas League hosts first training for facilitators

  

The Texas League of Young Voters Education Fund (Texas League) hosts the first of a series of facilitator trainings for community-based leaders and organizers. Facilitators are Texas League’s liaison to collaborating organizations who have committed to providing volunteers and resources to the Texas League’s voter registration and GOTV efforts. Marty Morrison (center picture), Community Outreach Officer, Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar’s Office, deputized facilitators at the training. Texas League registers Young Money’s recording artist, Just Brittany

The Texas League of Young Voters  Education Fund  (Texas League) registers Young Money’s new recording artist, Just Brittany, at the 4th Annual Hip Hop for HIV Awareness Concert in Houston.  The Texas League partnered with Radio One’s KBXX 97.9 the Box and event organizers to register voters during the event. Hip Hop for HIV Awareness is one of the largest and most successful HIV and syphilis screening events in the country.
